A:I love to steam but I didnt buy anything fancy. For less than $10, I bought a metal collapsable steamer basket (most grocery stores carry them in their cooking gadget/supplies aisle). You can use it in one of your regular pots. With an inch of water on the bottom of a pot, and a steamer basket on top, throw in your favorite chopped veggies (For example, one of the following: green beans, asparagus, broccoli, chunks of squash), set your stove on medium high and in 10-20 minutes they are ready. Just make sure to check the water level doesnt run out after about 15 minutes. Youll figure out what works for you after a few tries. The basket takes up no space in the cabinet either.
