Q:Mocha/Latte/Coffee Maker?
So I love mochas and iced coffee and lattes, etc. and so does my brother. So for Christmas we were thinking about asking our parents for some kind of coffee maker that makes mochas, etc. Anyone have any cheap ones that work good? Any suggestions of good brands? Starbucks is getting expensive! haha so itd be easier to just make it at home Thanks!

A:you might be disappointed since starbucks uses very expensive coffee machines. theyre expensive because the temperature of the water is highly regulated, and home coffee makers / espresso makers arent that capable.

A:INGREDIENTS:
4 tbs green tea
6 whole cloves
1/2 ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup milk
4 cups water
PREPARATION:
Boil water, then simmer with cinnamon, ginger and cloves for about 10 minutes. Add tea and steep for another 5 minutes. Add milk and heat until near boiling. Strain out the spices and tea leaves. Serve chai with a bit of honey

Q:I cant afford to go to Starbucks everyday for my Venti non-fat latte and I do not have an espresso machine.
Is there a way to make the latte with a regular coffee maker?
OH, I forgot to mention that I only drink iced lattes, so I dont think steamed milk is an issue. And yes, I do need to have one everyday, its my equivalent of a beer or cigarette or drugs.

A:Its actually quite easy to make at home, though you might want to invest in a cheap espresso machine that just does the basics–even the cheapest on the market will get you a higher quality espresso shot than starsucks. If you do get a machine, all you need to do is mix 1-3 shots of espresso (depending on your preference) with any flavored syrups that you might like (Sterling is my favorite brand of syrup thats made specifically for espresso-based beverages, but there are others such as Torani and Monin). Pour that mixture over ice and add nonfat milk and youve got yourself your iced latte. Now, if you cant afford an espresso machine, you could always attempt to brew especially strong coffee in your regular pot (you could grind the beans finer, use more grounds, less water, etc) but it really wont taste the same. If you do happen to have a coffeemaker that uses pods, you might be able to buy espresso pods from the manufacturer. Your next best options are moka pots or french presses–those will more closely simulate espresso, but its just not the same. Espresso is brewed by forcing steam through the grounds, while the other methods use boiling water and gravity, for the most part.
